Vision

The Ombud Council will ensure that a known, trusted and easily accessible ombud system exists for all in the financial sector.

Mission

The Ombud Council will :

Recognise industry ombud schemes
Set enhanced governance and accountability requirements for ombud schemes
Harmonise and strengthen standards of practice for each ombud scheme through rule-making and oversight powers and
Develop a uniform and consistent framework for alternative dispute mechanisms across the financial services sector.
